  • What are the fees involved with accepting credit cards?
  • Straightline will save you a very significant amount in total true-cost because of our extremely low markup rates. ALL card processors/acquirers must EQUALLY pay the same base costs for each Visa, Mastercard and Discover card type. These rates are called Interchange Rates which fluctuate very slightly from year to year. For example, a swiped Visa rewards card has an Interchange rate of 1.64%, plus $0.10 per item. This is the bank's profit which is why they are in the business of issuing credit cards to customers. The only thing that you can control is what you are willing to pay above these Interchange Rates. Straightline does Interchange Plus Pricing which is a very fair way of charging the same markup on every type of credit card regardless of volume or number of transactions. You are not surcharged for any types of Mid-Qualified or Non-Qualified items which is where other companies inflate their rates to earn a larger profit.
